Beurs van Berlage
Located in Amsterdam, was designed by the renowned Dutch architect HP Berlage. Built in 1903 during a period of industrial growth, it replaced the city's previous stock exchange buildings. In addition to stock trading, it housed exchanges for commodities, grain, and ships. Berlage and other involved artists, influenced by Socialist ideals, believed that the capitalist trading system would eventually collapse. They envisioned the building's future as a community center, inspired by old Italian town halls.
